SOUTH KOREA: E-Land To Launch New Menswear Brand

Targeting the male customers in their 30's, E-Land is planning to launch a casual menswear brand called NEWTT next spring.

E-Land's expansion into the menswear market means reviving its menswear business, which was halted during the 1997-98 Asian financial crisis.

Despite a deep economic slump throughout the apparel industry, E-Land has been aggressive, taking over one womenswear brand and two for babies as well as initiating new brands for children's clothing and underwear this year.

"E-Land is purchasing apparel companies and brands that are being sold at low prices due to the slumping economy," an E-Land official said.
