VIET NAM: Promotion of cultural heritage in Vietnam

The 15 Vietnamese brands participating in the project include Thai Tuan Textile & Garment Co., Minh Long Co., SJC, Kinh Do Corp., Vinh Tien notebook, NinoMaxx, Saigontourist Travel Service, Bong Sen Corp., Phuong Nam Corp., Toycity, KTG, Sy Hoang fashion, TTT Corp., Nguyen Hoang Corp. and Future One Co.

Each of the participants will produce a new product featuring patterns that were traditionally carved on Dong Son bronze drums. The products will be introduced at the Legend of Dong Son cultural night at White Palace (194 Hoang Van Thu Street, Phu Nhuan District) on March 21. The event is expected to attract over 300 directors from national and international companies and representatives from the local consulate offices.

Nguyen Tran Quang, chairman of the board of directors of Future One Co., said that the purpose of the project is to stir the Vietnamese spirit and introduce the world to Vietnamese history and culture. Through the various products, consumers will be familiarized with the patterns, images, and stories from 2,500 years ago in Vietnam history.

In addition to promoting Vietnamese cultural and historical images, the project is creating new products for the market and boosting collaboration among the brands, added Quang.

The project is conducted with assistance from Ton Nu Thi Ninh, former chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Vietnam National Assembly, Professor Tran Van Khe, Professor Nguyen Khac Thuan, historian Duong Trung Quoc and the Foreign Affairs Service Center of the HCMC Department of Foreign Afiairs.

The Legend of Dong Son cultural night will be broadcasted live in HCMC on VTV9 and other local televisions of Can Tho, Hue and Danang at 8 p.m. on March 21.
