: Messe Frankfurt textile fairs represented in the world's growth marketTextiles can be used for a variety of purposes, from garments, home and household furnishings to technical applications and textile markets are demanding. Messe Frankfurt has been supporting these textile sectors and their themes internationally for 20 years now. The focus of Messe Frankfurt's international textile fairs network is on rapidly expanding manufacturing areas and sales markets, which are subject to fast-moving fashion trends and consumer demands. Thus, the pioneering spirit in the textile fairs area continues to this day because Messe Frankfurt is always on the lookout for new, highly promising markets for its customers around the world. They then service these markets with the aid of 21 foreign subsidiaries and branch offices, assisted by 48 international s partners, responsible for 151 countries. Brand Management in Frankfurt is the central control unit that coordinates and plans the company's events around the world. These events also enjoy the support of leading textile associations and industrial companies in the regions concerned. Messe Frankfurt textile fairs in Germany and abroad make a significant contribution to the success of the company. From Asia to America, three brand names link together trade and industry worldwide: the Interstoff / Texworld / Intertextile garment-fabric fairs; Heimtextil / Intertextile Home Textiles / Interior Lifestyle, the fairs for home and commercially used textiles and Techtextil trade fairs for technical textiles and nonwovens. For each sector, there is a leading fair that sets the standard. In the case of the Heimtextil brand, Heimtextil in Frankfurt is the world's leading trade fair and the same applies for the Techtextil brand. In the garment textile sector, Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics in Shanghai is the biggest garment fair in the world. So Messe Frankfurt positions its trade fair themes internationally and covers markets of major strategic importance. It is no coincidence that the majority of Messe Frankfurt events are a must for market orientation, purchasing and sales in the major textile markets. Irrespective of the positive development of textile fairs in terms of quantity, Messe Frankfurt is investing more and more heavily in quality. Exhibitor and visitor polls confirm that events have improved continuously. Garment fabrics form the basis for future fashion trends It is apparent even before the autumn event starts that the companies taking part have identified a consumer trend. In addition to the quality of products and services, the focus is on ecological aspects. Western consumers, in particular, attach great importance to environmentally sound manufacturing methods. More and more fabrics made from recycled or renewable raw materials and organically cultivated materials are being used. In this context, Messe Frankfurt chose Texworld Paris to publish its Eco-Textile Labelling Guide. The guide, a joint venture between Messe Frankfurt and the magazine 'Ecotextile News', gives valuable information on the latest bio-textile standards and environmental certification. The database-supported, 'I-Tex' fabric library, used successfully at Texworld in Paris, provides information on the fabrics on show. Dotted around the fair and exhibition centre, the terminals enable visitors to retrieve detailed information on fabrics and manufacturers. In addition to company portraits, the library also features prices, delivery terms, fabric properties, composition, weight and washing instructions. Interstoff Asia Essential in Hong Kong is the most advanced textile trade fair in the whole of Asia. The re-branding of the fair in early 2007, when it became Interstoff Asia Essential - The Home of Cutting-Edge Textiles, reflects this. The event focuses on eco-textiles and multi-functional fabrics and is now a specialist fair, a platform for new and original products and doesn't claim to promote high volume business or bulk ordering.
In November 2007, Source It relocated from Hong Kong to Shanghai. At this event, which runs parallel to Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, fair visitors were presented with an opportunity to purchase garments, textiles and accessories from ASEAN nations. The home-trends pioneerThe Heimtextil brand currently spans seven fairs. In addition to the biggest international event, in Frankfurt am Main, other fairs are held in Europe and Asia. Heimtextil Russia is now the top event for the Russian home and contract furnishing textiles market and is highly trend-orientated in structure. This is because the booming Russian market is marked by a significant need and high demand for high-grade information on 'lifestyle' and soft furnishings for the home. This was reconfirmed by the Russian market at the 10th event, which attracted a record 13,856 visitors. Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles continues to expand. Higher exhibitor and visitor numbers reinforce the position of Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles as China's biggest and most important home textile industry event. In 2008, the 'Designers Zone' created a new focal point. Due to high demand in China, a home textiles fair will also be held in spring starting in 2009. Intertextile Guangzhou Hometextile China will be held for the first time from 18 to 21 March 2009 at the China Import & Export Fair Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou. Heimtextil Japan will take place alongside Ambiente under the Interior Lifestyle umbrella. Japan's leading trade fair for consumer goods and textile design brings together Japan's major buyers with exhibitors of high-end design objects. Heimtextil Japan has not only grown exhibitor and visitor numbers but exhibition space as well. Heimtextil Japan is set to be even more informative and inspirational than in previous years, with new attractions like 'NORDIC LIFESTYLE,' trend cafés and the 'neON' young designer area. November 2008 sees the launch of an autumn/winter counterpart to the June consumer goods fair, the International Furniture Fair Tokyo (IFFT) / Interior Lifestyle Living. The IFFT is Japan's most important furniture fair and has been staged since 1979. By combining the two fairs, Messe Frankfurt is creating a lifestyle-orientated spring fair and, consequently, a presentation platform for high-end, soft furnishing collections. Market statistics clearly show that furniture production is at its peak in February, so IFFT / Interior Lifestyle Living will set the trends for the new season.Heimtextil India in Mumbai is an established fair with a firm place in the calendar of events. Texworld India has been taking place in tandem with Heimtextil since 2006, with Techtextil India joining them last October. Heimtextil presents the entire home and household textile product palette under the synonym 'Textile Days India'. Visions become realityTechnical textiles are constantly gaining market share and are ringing in a new era of functions and applications. Besides Techtextil in Frankfurt, the leading international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens, Messe Frankfurt currently holds five events in Eastern Europe, America and Asia. Step by step, Messe Frankfurt is penetrating the markets which offer the sector's greatest growth potential. All biennial Techtextil fairs are accompanied by a symposium - designed, on one hand, to present the latest developments and reduce information deficits and, on the other, to provide a contact forum for all concerned, from researchers to users. In 2008, Avantex, the International Forum for Innovative Apparel Textiles will become an integral part of Techtextil in Frankfurt. The aim of the integration is to maximise the profitable synergies provided by the exhibitor and visitor overlap and interaction. The tagline 'Avantex integrated' is designed to intensify the technology transfer. Another innovation at Techtextil 2009 is that Material Vision, the international trade fair and conference for materials and product development, design and architecture, will be held parallel to Techtextil. Together, Material Vision and Techtextil offer an optimal platform for modern materials, product innovations and new material technologies and feature a product range, unrivalled in breadth and depth. Two new fairs joined the Techtextil brand in October 2007: Techtextil India, which after a successful launch, will be held every two years in Mumbai, alongside Heimtextil India and Texworld India, demonstrating once again the creativity and professionalism of the textile industry. The second new fair is Techtextil North America in Las Vegas, which is due to take place in April 2009. This aim of this West Coast event is to improve access to the potential available there. As a result, Techtextil North America will take place alternately on the East and West Coasts. The next Techtextil brand event, Cinte Techtextil China in Shanghai, is scheduled to take place from 20 to 22 October 2008. Techtextil North America will return to the events calendar in April 2009 and Techtextil Russia in 2010.
