SINGAPORE: Gentle Power Bleach wins Industriepreis Award

SINGAPORE, - Huntsman Textile Effects and Genencor, a division of Danisco A/S, with their breakthrough innovative GENTLE POWER BLEACH ™ pretreatment system won the prestigious German ‘Industriepreis 2010’ in the category Biotechnology. The Industriepreis, now in its fifth year, honors the most innovative solutions in the German industry. Awards are given in 14 different categories to the most innovative product developments and market novelties from the entire industry. Over 400 entries were evaluated by a jury comprised of professors, scientists, journalists and technical experts based on the following criteria: innovative content, impact on productivity enhancement and suitability for medium-sized companies.

GENTLE POWER BLEACH ™ pretreatment system is a novel bio-based pretreatment system based on breakthrough enzyme innovation. This new peroxide bleach allows low temperature bleaching of textiles at 65°C and at a neutral pH range. It excels in its ability to process a wide variety of fibers more sustainably whilst delivering textile goods with an enhanced quality. This technique provides perfect preparation for cotton dyeing, and on polyamide and regenerated cellulosic fibers, including Lyocell and Tencel A 100, excellent full white levels can be obtained.
